因为潘天寿强烈的艺术风格，使其大部分作品完全可以通过笔墨来鉴定，但有些作品也需要通过题跋和
著录 等文献信息进行鉴别。如潘天寿纪念馆藏有一幅《小亭枯树图》，流传的还有一幅笔墨精到、构图
相近的《 小亭枯树图》，经过比对两幅作品的题跋，一幅为“兹背拟之”，另一幅为“兹再拟之”，可
以确定潘天寿 在画完一幅以后，不太满意，又画了一幅。又比如国外有博物馆收藏了一幅《葫芦菊花》
，跟潘天寿纪念馆 收藏的《葫芦菊花》基本一样，这样的作品除了两作之间笔墨的比对外，还应该通过
国外博物馆查找入藏的 途径来确定真伪。
