在骨法用笔和施墨泼彩非常的遒劲，不受自然的限制，不受理智的束缚，充分表现了自己的人格、个性、生命，在这方面梅花的描写尤为突出，气势非凡、如火如荼、激情喷薄、笔歌墨舞，颇得“壮气”、“神气”，其气魄之大，非一般的画家所能望其涯缦。然而图二梅花的描写就相对显得浅薄，不够厚重，过于平涂，没能体现梅花的立体感以及鲜艳夺目之精神，线条的力度遒劲不足，色彩的饱和度不够，梅花面貌显得拖沓平乏，不够精神，缺乏生机勃勃的昂扬之气，降低了艺术的感染力和表现力。说实话，图二发挥的总体来讲还是不错的，尽管与图一在艺术上有一定的差距，但是也紧追不放，较为接近，在鉴定中，很容易造成真假误判，这里有必要提醒，任何人不能大意。
 
在专场古籍善本专场中,两件宋版典籍北宋刻《妙华莲华经入注七卷》和现存早的宋连环画帖《华严经入法界品善财参问变相经》分别拍出943万元和621万元。西泠拍卖首次推出的青铜礼器专场中,16件青铜礼器全部成交,成交额近4000万元。
 
从2010年春拍开始,西泠拍卖就推出了名人信札手迹专场。本届秋拍共设立了3个中外名人手迹专场,合计成交总额达6979万元,创下了国内拍卖市场上此类拍品的拍卖纪录。

西泠印社首任社长吴昌硕作于1918年的4帧四季花卉镜片精品从650万元起拍,于1840万元成交,弘一大师的行书“放下”从38万元起拍,到471.5元成交,被称作“一字百万金”。
